One of our personal favorites experiences in Ireland was exploring Kilkenny’s Medieval Mile and immersing ourselves in the city’s rich history. The Medieval Mile is a stretch of landmarks and historical sites that showcases Kilkenny’s medieval past. From the iconic Kilkenny Castle to the impressive St. Canice’s Cathedral, every step along the Medieval Mile uncovers a new layer of history and beauty.
To top off our visit to Kilkenny, we had the opportunity to watch a hurling match, a traditional Irish sport that combines elements of lacrosse, hockey, and baseball. The intense and fast-paced nature of hurling makes it an exhilarating sport to watch, and the passion of the fans adds to the electric atmosphere of the match. It was a truly immersive and memorable experience that gave us a deeper understanding of Irish culture.
