Back Bistro

I can often be found at the bar with my computer here, getting work done in the afternoon. It’s a perfect place to relax and be productive. So, I’ve hit up a lot of happy hours here and I’ve never had a bad experience.

Their happy hour menu consists of $4, $6, $8 and $10 items. Their food is delicious, so this is a great opportunity to taste some of their options at a more affordable price.

What to Order

You have to try the goat cheese fritters, the ahi & crispy rice cakes, or one of the flatbreads. Trust me, you’ll love them!

You’ll also get $1 off beer, $2 off wine/margaritas/well drinks, and $3 off craft cocktails. I can’t get enough of their drinks. Their guacamole is delicious, and they give you a fair amount to share. They have some pretty delicious craft cocktails too.

The photo at the top of the post is a Dragonberry Mojito with fresh strawberries, strawberry puree, fresh mint, fresh lime juice, and club soda. It’s amazing, you should try it.

Scott’s Seafood

Scott’s Seafood during Happy Hour (it looks empty, but I promise, it wasn’t 🙂

I used to go to the old Scott’s that was on the other side of the river, but the new(ish) Scott’s in Folsom feels like a much elevated Scott’s. I’ve been to both and the new one is much nicer. First of all, they serve you yummy warm sourdough bread from Village Bakery in Davis, which is pretty darn delicious. It’s hard not to fill up on it before your meal even arrives.

What to Order

I typically get their fresh Sashimi Trio. It’s always fresh and delicious.

Chicago Fire

This has to be one of the most affordable happy hours in town as far as food goes. It has increased substantially since 2019, but what hasn’t? I love that every time I go there, I come out saying “Why don’t we do that more often?!” It’s so easy and affordable.

What to Order

A piece of thin slice pizza is $4.50, and their personal deep dish pizza is $8. Their beer and cocktails are relatively reasonable. Quicky, easy, casual. It’s definitely one of my go-to spots when I want something low-key.

The bar gets packed, so go early to get seats. They have a fairly large happy hour menu – A great opportunity to taste some of their delicious food and drinks at a reasonable price. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into their food.

Some of my favorites are the Wellingtons, Grilled Artichoke, and Bacon-Jalapeño Mac & Cheese. The mac and cheese is rich so make sure you are hungry.
